Our vision, mission and scope

The Rural Economic Workforce Alliance for Resource Development (REWARD) Program was established in 2004 by the South Carolina Office of Adult and Community Education, readySC™ and Northeastern Technical College. It is funded through a grant from the South Carolina Department of Commerce and private donations. The mission of the program is to unite all of the workforce development providers in rural counties of South Carolina to provide non-duplicative, best practice work force development service to the citizens of South Carolina in a unified strategic approach.

VISION STATEMENT

    1. To become the first choice in preparing communities to meet employers, businesses and institutions basic training needs.

    2. To provide communities the best workforce/job-skilled training at the best price and quality.

MISSION

    • To create a rural workforce development training consortium to address the training needs of new and existing industries within South Carolina.

    • To involve all community workforce stakeholders as empowered and equal partners in the creation, implementation, management, and evaluation of the training program to meet the workforce needs of the employers as well as the workers.

    • To adhere to each partners stated policies and procedures to prevent duplication of services and provide a unified holistic training program where every applicant is assessed and referred to the appropriate service to meet his/her workforce development needs.

    • To provide the employers with competent entry level employees who are capable of producing quality work in an efficient, timely, and safe manner.

    • To adress the training needs of new and exisiting businesses and industries within the local communities.

SCOPE

The SCOPE of the REWARD program is to discover, develop, and implement policies and procedures related to client companies, and employers in the service area to provide quality, best practice, and training for all stakeholders involved in the training process.

This includes:

    • State-of-the-art computers and other training equipment

    • Workforce preparation for local industries

    • Highly trained instructors

    • Collaboration with other training agencies and community based organizations

    • Monitoring and evaluation of trainee progress and program efficiency

    • Quality training designed to meet the specific training needs of local employees
